I would argue that every girl has a little Columbiana in
her.
A deep past hurt that keeps her unsatisfied in future
relationships. A hurt that haunts her.
The next time I step into a relationship, I vow to be in
a place where I can love that man with all of me. I will not
bring my past into our future. I
will not blame my husband for hurts
of other men. I will not take out my pain
on him.
I promise that I will be in a place where I am centered
on God’s love, grace, and forgiveness, and find my identity in Him and Him
alone. I will not spend my life hunting
the ghosts of my past. My future
deserves so much more than that.
Good-bye, Columbiana. Here's to healing.
