Things I’ve Learned About
Me
I am not intelligent. I don’t possess much common sense. What I lack in IQ I make up for in
compassion, kindness, and patience. I
love animals, babies, children, seniors, and can only tolerate teenagers. I respect those who have blue collar jobs
more than those with white, but am slowly letting go of my prejudices against
them. I love writing, graphic design,
traveling, and seem to admire the mechanics of these just as much as the journey and
destinations. I love the taste of food
just as much as I love the sight of the countryside, mountains, and big
cities. But I love the feel of clothes
more than how aesthetically pleasing they are to others. I have always dreamed of being the woman who
looks amazing in just plain white t’s and jeans rather than the extravagant, chic fashionista. If I could go back and if it were acceptable,
I’d train to be an auto-mechanic…or a world traveler. Gulf Shores, AL, stole my heart and I hope one
day it’s passed onto Rome. My greatest
achievement is loving others with a love I never knew before I was 25, and my
greatest struggle is loving others with that same love. Jesus has hijacked my heart, using it over a
span of 2,000 miles and almost two years.
I feel closest to him when I’m flying a red-eye flight, standing in the
ocean at midnight, or seeing someone cry tears of sadness, brokenness, and/or
joy. Maybe one day I’ll be published…maybe
I won’t. My life is but a vapor in the
wind and today I vow to ride the current wherever it may take me in the name of
God, those I love, and those I have yet to meet.
Change.
Pray. Worship. Love unceasingly.
