Day 314

So much has happened today.

Good, and bad.

At the end of it all, I just couldn't help but cry.

Thursday...9/13/12 at 4:56 PM I watched my son Joshua Mompean ~ Joshua James Mompean take his last breathe. My heart is broken and yesterday...I lost one of my heroes. I hate Cystic Fibrosis for what it did to my son and what it is still doing to my daughter. If I could have traded places with either of them to avoid the terrible pain and long chronic suffering I would do it without a second thought. I watched my son be born and take his first breath and last night I watched him take his last. The sight of his lifeless body is forever burned into my brain and I want to wash it out because I tumble with every thought of that image. I am heart sick...the pain is almost...unbearable.

This was sudden. I wqas up to see him in the hospital at Stanford on Saturday and again with my wife and kids on Sunday and we all had a wonderful visit. Josh was weak but had hope of having months left and wanted to come out of the hospital. Josh got to see and visit with his sister Sarah and brother Elijah. By Wednesday we got the call and by Thursday he was gone. It just ain't right.

I invite you to go to my son's page and read what his friends and family are saying about his extraordinary life. I am so proud of the man he became and the way he has helped so many people in his life. His 28 years were meaningful and I will forever miss him. It just isn't right...his friends called him Blue...he was my Josh...I love you bubby...with all of me...I love you...forever.
